Device
Joint Sensing and Communications System with High Accuracy Ranging and Spectral Efficiency
Spectrum
4 GHz for the demonstration system
Novelty
Ranging tones are placed in the second nulls of binary phase shift keyed (BPSK) data spectrum with negligible impact on data throughput or sensing accuracy. For the demonstration system, ranging tones are ±80 MHz of a 4 GHz carrier in the second nulls of a 40 MHz BPSK data waveform.
Application
Internet of Things (IoT) for joint sensing and communications.
Performance
1.3 mm ranging standard deviation for a corner reflector in a semi-anechoic chamber; 12mm and 15mm ranging STD for two people outdoors.
