Bring Your Own Code: A Simulation Framework to Harness Optimization, Artificial Intelligence, and Automation Techniques for Microwave Design
Abstract
This article presents a modern microwave design simulation framework for user contributions of custom programming-based wrappers of code and information to traditional modern electronic design and automation (EDA) software. “Wrapping” code adds advanced optimization, AI and automation techniques to EDA software. The article presents an overview of programming-based microwave circuit design solutions, more advanced GUI-based EDA solutions, and proceeds to explore how readers can integrate their own optimization and automation algorithms into their EDA software. Bringing your own code to modern microwave circuit design software is a significant step in automating design and applying AI and ML to improve design outcomes.
