Novelty
A frequency-reconfigurable power amplifier (PA) utilizing an asymmetric coupled multimode transformer and a triple-coupled frequency-reconfigurable network (TC-FRN), enables band-shifting, bandwidth expansion, and spectrum reconstruction. A tunable image-rejection filter (TIRF) in the TX path enhances image-rejection and energy efficiency. A dual-path multiband low-noise amplifier (LNA) in the receive path minimizes noise figure (NF) and power consumption while extending bandwidth. A local oscillator (LO) phase-shifting architecture incorporating a distributed LO chain and an ultrawideband bidirectional mixer reduces complexity and power consumption.

Multiscenario and world roaming 5G wireless transceivers with higher data rates and ultralow transmission latency.
Performance
Better than−30 dBc adjacent channel leakage ratio (ACLR) and better than -25 dB error vector magnitude (EVM) with 400-MHz 64-QAM modulation. 16.7 dBm peak OP1dB with 27.3 dB S21 at 28 GHz in TX mode; 7.1 dB minimum NF with 35 dB S21 and−35.3 dBm IP1dB at 22 GHz in RX mode. 28.2 20 64.7 dBc image-rejection ratio (IMRR) of 28.2 to 64.7 dBc TX-to-RX.
