Biography

Wanchen Yang (M’15-SM’19)  received the B. Eng. degree in Communication Engineering from the Hohai University (HHU), Nanjing, China, in 2010, and the Ph. D. degree in Electromagnetic Field and Microwave Technology from Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NUST), Nanjing, China, in 2015.  From Nov. 2013 to Apr. 2014, she was a Research Assistant with the University of Macau. From May 2017 to Nov. 2017, she is a Postdoctoral Fellow with the City University of Hong Kong. From Oct. 2015 to Dec. 2018, she was an Assistant Professor with the Nanjing University of Science and Technology, Nanjing, China. From Jan. 2019 to Jun. 2022, she was an Associate Professor with the South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China. From Jul. 2022 to Jul. 2024, she was an Professor with the Hohai University, Nanjing, China. In Aug. 2024, she joined the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing, China, where she is currently an Professor. She has authored or co-authored over 150 internationally refereed journal and conference papers, including over 40 Transaction papers. Her main research interests include novel artificial material-based antenna arrays, multi-functional antenna arrays, millimeter-wave antenna arrays, and MIMO antenna arrays and technologies, etc.

She was the recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation of Jiangsu Province, China, and the recipient of the Best Paper Prize of 2014 Student Paper Competition in IEEE HK AP/MTT Postgraduate Conference, Oct. 2014, and the co-recipient of the Best Paper Prize of 2015 Asia Pacific Microwave Conference, Dec. 2015, and the co-recipient of the Best Paper Prize of 2022 International Wireless Symposium, Aug. 2022. She serves as an Associate Editor of the Microwave And Optical Technology Letters and the IEEE Access, and a Reviewer of the IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, the IEEE Antennas and Wireless Propagation Letters, the IEEE Access, the IET Microwaves Antennas and Propagation, the IET Electronic Letters, and the Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, etc.
