Biography

Amir Afshani (Member, IEEE) was born in Tehran, Iran in 1989. He received the B.Sc. in electrical engineering from the K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, the M.Sc. (Hons.) degree in electrical engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology (AUT), in Tehran, Iran, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the École Polytechnique de Montréal, Montreal, QC, Canada, in 2021. He is currently an FRQNT Postdoctoral Fellow with the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) in Montreal. His current research interests include full duplex transceiver design, nonreciprocal ferrite devices, microwave passive component design and RF power amplifiers. Dr. Afshani was a recipient of the the FRQNT (Fonds de recherche du Québec Nature et technologies) Postdoc Fellowship Award in 2021, IEEE MTT-S Graduate Fellowship Award in 2020, FRQNT Doctoral Fellowship Award in 2018, Young Engineer Prize (YEP) in the European Microwave Conference (EuMC) in 2017. Also, he received the Student Grant at European Microwave Conference (EuMC) in Nuremberg, Germany in 2017, and European Microwave Conference (EuMC) in Paris, France in 2019.
