Make Waves With Young Professionals and Women in Microwaves During IMS 2026
Join Women in Microwaves (WiM) and Young Professionals (YP) for a joint panel session event and separate evening networking socials at the 2026 IEEE International MTT Symposia (IMS 2026). All three events will occur on Tuesday, 9 June at the end of the day’s technical program. All are welcome and encouraged to attend!
For the 2026 WiM and YP panel session, a balanced group of five will participate in a guided discussion centered on how to navigate leveraging your network. Titled “How to Make Waves: Mentorship, Sponsorship, and Advocacy for Advancing Women & Young Professionals in Microwave Engineering,” we will ask panelists about how they would differentiate among the three categories in definition and when to seek them out for assistance. How important have they found mentorship? How can advocates help us get recognition and be seen more fully for our contributions and accomplishments?
Along with discussion, we look forward to hearing panelists’ personal stories or anecdotes as well as advice for the audience. The panel will comprise representatives from academia, industry, and in between. The session will be begin at 4:30 p.m. and the conversations will continue at the social events at 7.00 pm!
