BPC Manila Workshop - Engage South-East Asia Workshop 2026,
The IEEE MTT-S Broadening Participation Committee (BPC) Workshop 2026, titled “Engage South-East Asia Workshop 2026,” will take place on November 5–6, 2026, at the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Institute (EEEI), University of the Philippines Diliman, Quezon City, Philippines. The IEEE UP Diliman Student Branch is the partner organization. It is part of the BPC’s regional outreach in South-East Asia.
The workshop is for students, early-career researchers, faculty, industry professionals, and IEEE volunteers across the region. It combines technical education, mentoring, and professional development, with chances to engage regionally and internationally. Participants will learn about microwave theory and techniques and emerging RF and microwave technologies. They will also connect with IEEE MTT-S leaders and delegates from across Asia.
The two-day program includes technical talks from IEEE MTT-S delegates and an introduction to IEEE MTT-S and BPC opportunities. Panel discussions cover four topics:
- Microwave research in the South-East Asian region
- R&D work in academia and industry
- IEEE activities with leaders and active members
- Pursuing graduate studies
The program also includes group mentoring and a networking session, plus a session on the IEEE Philippine Section. Student engagement is a central part of the workshop. Students can join the Three-Minute Presentation Competition (3MPC), where they present their research or technical ideas to a broad audience. They can also join an interactive Proposal-Writing Competition (PWC) on writing clear, persuasive research proposals.
