BPC Brasilia Workshop - Boarding into the New Era of RF to THz Technologies and Applications

The IEEE MTT-S Broadening Participation Committee (BPC) Workshop 2026, titled “Boarding into the New Era of RF to THz Technologies and Applications,” will take place on September 24–25, 2026, at the University of Brasília (UnB), Brazil, as part of SEMUNI 2026. Activities will be held at the Darcy Ribeiro Campus (FT/UnB) on September 24 and the Gama Campus (FCTE/UnB) on September 25.

Designed to connect students, young researchers, faculty, industry professionals, IEEE volunteers, and technology leaders, the workshop combines STEM outreach, technical education, mentoring, professional development, and opportunities for regional and international engagement. Participants will explore emerging technologies spanning RF, microwave, millimeter-wave and terahertz systems, radar and sensing, communications, and high-impact technology applications, while building connections across academia, industry, and IEEE.

The two-day program features inspirational STEM talks, IEEE MTT-S and BPC opportunities, technical sessions, a NASA/JPL session, university–industry–IEEE discussions, mentoring and networking activities, an IEEE WIE special session, and the Samsung Ocean Brasil special session. Student engagement is a central component of the workshop, including the Three-Minute Presentation Competition (3MPC), where participants communicate their research or technical ideas to a broad audience, and an interactive Proposal-Writing Competition focused on developing clear and persuasive research proposals.
