Every year, the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society recognizes the contributions of its chapters based on the quantity and quality of the activities and programs implemented by the chapter during a calendar year spanning the period of January 1st – December 31st. The IEEE MTT-S Outstanding Chapter Award is given annually to a maximum of 5% of the MTT society chapters worldwide. All the chapters can apply including MTT-S chapters, joint chapters, and student branch chapters (SBC), except for a previously awarded chapter to become eligible for re-application only after three years from the year of the most recent Outstanding Chapter Award.
