Honoring Women Ph.D. Students at the French Microwave Days Conference

For the first time in the French Microwave Days Conference history, a special initiative was introduced in 2024 to highlight the contributions of women in our field, with a specific focus on doctoral students. This initiative was inspired by the model developed by the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Sense of Belonging Committee, which annually awards 12 young female professionals with the Mojgan Daneshmand Award. The goal is to recognize a broad range of women rather than just one, in order to highlight diversity in technical expertise, sector (industry versus. academia), and geography. This is crucial to expanding the number of role models who will encourage the emergence of new vocations.

In our April 2025 column, the organizers share the highlights and recaps from this well-attended event during the 23rd French Microwave Days in the beautiful city of Nice.
