Biography

Valeria Vadalà was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy, in 1982. She received the M.S. degree cum laude in electronic engineering from the “Mediterranea” University of Reggio Calabria, Reggio Calabria, Italy, in 2006 and the Ph.D. degree in information engineering from the University of Ferrara, Ferrara, Italy, in 2010. She is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Physics, University of Milano-Bicocca, Milan, Italy, where she teaches the course in electronic instrumentation and measurement. She is a member of the council for the National PhD course in Microelectronics, University of Pavia, and has been a supervisor for several B.Sc., M.Sc., and PhD students.

Her current research interests include nonlinear electron-device characterization and modeling and circuit-design techniques for nonlinear microwave and millimeter-wave applications. She has authored or coauthored over 100 publications in international journals and conferences.

Prof. Vadalà serves as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Numerical Modeling: Electronic Networks, Devices, and Fields.

Since 2025, she has been the Chair of the IEEE MTT-S Graduate Fellowship program, which is one of the longest continuing education-related activities of the IEEE MTT-S and awards up to 15 annual Fellowships (each in the amount of $6000 plus $1500 to attend IMS in the United States) to encourage future leaders and key technical contributors in their pursuit of careers in RF and microwave engineering.
