Biography

Marie obtained her bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the KU Leuven Engineering Sciences Faculty in 2019. In the first year of her master’s in Biomedical Engineering, she studied at KTH in Stockholm for one year with the Erasmus exchange program. She completed her second year at KU Leuven (2021), where she wrote her thesis on the use of deep neural networks for radiotherapy treatment planning. Driven by her interest in the application of science and engineering in biology and medicine, she has been pursuing the degree of PhD since 2021 in a collaboration between KU Leuven (BE) and Polytechnique Montréal (CA), under the supervision of Professor Dominique Schreurs and Professor Ke Wu. She aims to electromagnetically characterize and model biological materials in a broadband frequency range. She also works on the application of data-driven techniques in processing dielectric measurements. She is also an officer of her university’s IEEE AP-COM-MTT Student Chapter. Her main fields of interest are electromagnetics, signal processing, mathematical modeling, artificial intelligence, and human physiology.
