Biography

Ki R. Shin (S’09-M’15) is an RF design engineer at Qorvo Inc. and assistant professor at Houghton College. He received the B.S. degree from Handong University, in 2004, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, in 2014.
From 2005 to 2008, he was an RF system engineer with LG Electronics Mobile R&D Center. From 2009 to 2014, he was with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, as graduate research assistant. From 2014 to 2021, he was a Principal RF design engineer at ON Semiconductor Integrated Passive Device/Custom Foundry Business Unit. In August 2020, he joined Houghton College as an assistant professor. In June 2021, he joined Advanced Solutions Business Unit at Qorvo Inc. as a Staff RF design engineer.

His research interests include integrated circuits, microwave resonators and filters, Silicon/Glass integrated passive devices, high power waveguide/cavity devices, and 5G mobile communications. He is a member of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society, the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, the IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society, and a reviewer of IEEE conferences and journals. He has authored or co-authored numerous IEEE publications, patents, and workshops.
