Biography

Jing Wang (Senior Member, IEEE) received the dual B.S. degree in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1999, and the dual M.S. degree in electrical engineering and mechanical engineering and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, USA, in 2002 and 2006, respectively. He is currently the Agere Systems Endowed Professor of electrical engineering with the University of South Florida (USF), Tampa, FL, USA. He has authored or co-authored more than 200 peer-reviewed articles and holds 14 patents. He was a recipient of 2025 Outstanding Graduate Faculty Mentor Award, 2024 and 2018 Faculty Outstanding Research Achievement Award, and 2022 Excellence in Innovation Award at the University of South Florida. His research interests include RF additive manufacturing,  structural electronics and advanced packaging, heterogeneous integration, RF/microwave/millimeter-wave circuits, phased array antennas and front-end systems, monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), micromachined transducers, RF/bio-MEMS, microwave acoustics, wireless sensor telemetry, and functional nanomaterials. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed papers and holds 13 US patents. Since 2009, he has served as the chair for IEEE Florida West Coast MTT/AP/EDS Joint Section (the winner of the Best MTT-S Chapter Award in 2013). Since 2017, he has been the Faculty Advisor of the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) Student Chapter at USF. He has acted as General Chair or TPC chair for the IEEE Wireless and Microwave Technology Conferences (WAMICON) in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2020. In 2022, he was elected to act as the Executive Committee Chair for the IEEE WAMICON Conference.
