Biography
Dennis Cherogony holds a Bachelor’s in Telecommunication Engineering from Multimedia University of Kenya and is a registered Graduate Engineer with the Engineers’ Board of Kenya. He Co-founded Startinev Technologies, a telecommunications startup providing last-mile fiber connectivity, premise network operations, and maintenance services in Kenya’s South Rift Region.
Dennis is an active member of IEEE with over 5 years dedicated to volunteering and leadership. He currently serves as Chair of the Kenya MTT-S technical chapter, which was voted the best Kenya Section Chapter 2024 and Best Region 8 Technical Chapter 2025. Dennis previously served as the General Co-Chair for IMAS 2025, TPC member for AFRICON 2023 and LOC member PAC 2021.
Dennis is also a passionate mentor, having guided over 300 students and young professionals through structured programs like the KamiLimu mentorship initiative and various IEEE student and young professional events. His mentorship focuses on nurturing innovative thinking, fostering leadership, and applying technical skills to create sustainable social solutions.
