Device
Simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) system with a novel three-tone FSK modulation technique
Spectrum
2.7 GHz
Novelty
In this work, a multi-tone, biased-FSK waveform optimizes PAPR for enhanced SWIPT performance. By adjusting the side-tone power relative to the center tone, the PAPR is reduced from 6 to 5.3, mitigating distortion and enhancing diode operation while preserving power conversion efficiency. Additionally, the frequency-dependent rectifier design enables adjustable attenuation levels for flexible decoding—non-coherent for low-power applications and coherent for improved noise resilience—ensuring robust simultaneous wireless power transfer and data communication.
Application
Simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) systems.
Performance
62.84% peak (PCE); the technique improves PCE up to 9.04%, reduces THD by 6.23% and the BER by a factor of 5.5. 24 µW and 21.5 µW harvested DC power (fDL =1 to 2 MHz and fDL =1 to 20 MHz). 42.33 dB and 36.19 dB SNR (fDL =1 to 2 MHz and fDL =1 to 20 MHz).
