Device
Uplink and Downlink TDD Distributed MIMO Testbed with 1-bit Radio-over Fiber Architecture
Spectrum
2.35 GHz demonstrated in this testbed.
Novelty
A dither signal combined with the received RF signal is used to generate a binary waveform at the remote radio head (RHH) in the uplink. An RF waveform is generated at the control unit (CU) by a bandpass sigma-delta modulation technique in the downlink. These techniques assures low error vector magnitude (EVM) performance for 1-bit sampling at the CU.
Application
Distributed MIMO applications in 6G wireless networks.
Performance
100 MHz radio bandwidth at 2.35 GHz carrier; 10 GS/s sample rate.
42 dB dynamic range of the AGC, 60m line-of sight for 23 dBm UE signals.
EVM of 3.3% 10.9% for 10 MBd single-carrier 16 QAM modulation demonstrated .
