Device
5G NR IIP2 blocker-tolerant receiver front end with dual RF and BB N-path filters in 65 nm CMOS technology
Spectrum
1.8 - 2.7 GHz
Novelty
The proposed RX front end significantly improves IIP2 and IIP3 performance via a dual RF and BB N-path filtering approach. The double- balanced mixer in the main signal path is reused to implement the RF N-path bandpass filter (BPF) and BB N-path low-pass filter (LPF). An RF N-path BPF and BB N-path LPF are implemented using N-path notch feedback (FB) and feedforward (FF) BB N-path high-pass filter (HPF) configurations, respectively.
Application
5G NR cellular applications.
Performance
42-43 dB gain, 2.7-3.36 dB NF, >-9.9 dBm IB IIP3, >-0.25 dBm OB IIP3, >58 dBm OB IIP2.
1.0V VDD supply voltage, 14.41 mw Pdc power consumption, 0.66 mm2 chip area.
