Device
2×2 MIMO PDM photonics-aided THz wireless transmission system with a MIMO equalizer with novel DSP.
Spectrum
322 GHz
Novelty
A 2x2 multiple input multiple output phase division multiplex (MIMO PDM) architecture is implemented with a sophisticated MIMO equalizer with integrated independent channel processing (ICP) and embedded adaptive phase recovery (eAPR) to mitigate I/Q crosstalk and other impairments and improve input power sensitivity.
Application
High-speed THz-wave wireless transmission on the user side supporting high bandwidth indoor mobile applications, such as digital twins, virtual reality (VR), and ultrahigh definition videos.
Performance
60-GBaud probabilistically shaped (PS)-64QAM signal transmission demonstrated over 20-km fiber and 3-m THz wave; 510 Gbps per wavelength achieved for THz-wave transmission with PS signals.
