Novermber 2024 Issue
The November issue of the IEEE Microwave Magazine is out! This issue has four features and an application note. This issue is mostly about radars and neural networks but also gives you a chance to learn more about AI. Not to mention our regular columns with information about our society and many things to think about.
Check out the Editor’s Desk for all the details on this issue and the Guest Editor’s Desk for the background on the features. This issue is big on radar, and today’s radar is breaking barriers. Learn about radar used for gesture recognition, recognizing drones, and chips for the most advanced chirp frequency radars. As well as all the radar information we also have a feature on how those old school parametric amplifiers are used with new school quantum bits. And don’t forget the application note. Microwave heating is old school but here is another new school application.
Once you have finished the features check out the columns. In our MTT-S Society News you can find out about what the Technical Committee on RF MEMS and Microwave Acoustics has been doing and what their plans are for the future. Our Around the Globe covers some insight into the long term benefits for those conference volunteers. The Women in Microwaves have been active all over the world so check out this column on how they are making things happen. For our Conference Report learn about how the World Microwave Congress in 2024 has improved equity and advanced virtual conferences.
As always, many of our columns give us a lot to think about. MicroBusiness is always good for some thoughtful lessons, like don’t waste other people’s time by chattering on in meetings. Microwave Surfing also gives us regular deep thoughts. What about all those things we leave in space or let fall to earth? Our Educator’s Corner considers how to involve people so they learn. Finally our Enigmas, etc. column considers Elevation Angle and the Poincaré length.
As always, check out the Conference Calendar and attend in person for a more memorable experience.
