Device
Transverse-electric (TE) polarized Bessel-beam launcher fed by four radial slots
Spectrum
30 GHz
Novelty
Each slot is fed with an RF signal having the same amplitude and phase by optimizing the feeding network from a geometric and an electromagnetic viewpoint to efficiently excite an azimuthally symmetrical TE-polarized field inside the cavity. An aluminum ring precisely aligns and connects the feeding network with the innovative air-filled launcher. The air filling avoids dielectric losses which may severely impact the performance at millimeter waves. The fine tuning of the design parameters of the cavity along with the fabrication of an all-metal, fishnet-like metasurface is a result of an efficient and accurate leaky-wave approach to wireless power transfer.
Application
Wireless power transfer
Performance
