Device
A multinode, multiobjective open-loop microwave distributed steerable beamforming system based on high-accuracy wireless synchronization and localization.
Spectrum
2.1 GHz
Novelty
High-accuracy wireless time coordination is applied for both time synchronization and 2-D localization. A spectrally sparse two-tone waveform enhances internode range estimation accuracy. A linear frequency-modulated waveform mitigates multipath interference. Multinode array geometry is built relative to a designated origin node to obtain localization.
The multiobjective beamforming algorithm adapts the traditional quiescent pattern linear constrained minimum power (LCMP) far-field multiobjective beamforming algorithm for beamstearing in the near-field for simultaneous focusing and nulling.
Application
Highly coordinated wireless systems used for cooperative satellite communications, vehicular communications, MIMO radar, health monitoring, agriculture management, industrial machinery monitoring and control and many other applications.
Performance
1 cm or better localization accuracy
