Featured MTT-S Chapters

Announcement

IEEE MTT-S MGA is pleased to announce the launch of a new column, “Featured MTT-S Chapters,” in IEEE Microwave Magazine starting June 2025.

This column will serve as the primary venue to highlight the activities of our remarkable chapters in a different region every month and to reach a wider audience. We cordially invite all our officers to submit their chapter events and overviews to share their impact broadly with the rest of the MHz-to-THz community.

On behalf of our chapters, MTT-S members, and all RF enthusiasts, we extend our sincere gratitude to Dietmar Kissinger, the Chair of the IEEE MTT-S MGA committee, and Robert Caverly, the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Microwave Magazine, for their immediate support and continual guidance.

To submit your contributions or request more information, please contact the column editor: damla.dimlioglu@ieee.org

Microwave Hub in Balkans: Serbia and Montenegro MTT-S Chapter

IEEE Serbia and Montenegro MTT-S Chapter is the first from Region 8 to be featured in Microwave Magazine!

This article provides an in-depth look at the Serbia and Montenegro MTT-S Chapter, touching on its history, key activities, and future directions. The Serbia and Montenegro MTT-S Chapter is a dedicated branch of the MTT-S, focused on contributing to the personal and professional growth of the local community and advancing microwave theory, technology, and applications in the region. Established in 1989, it is now a medium-sized Chapter with most members being located in four university centers: three in Serbia (the University of Belgrade, the University of Niš, and the University of Novi Sad) and one in Montenegro (University of Podgorica). At the moment, among approximately 40 members, there is one IEEE Fellow, one Life Senior Member, and nine Senior Members. Exactly 40% of the Chapter members are female members.

The Chapter is actively engaged in a variety of activities, including the organization of some important international conferences, prestigious technical lectures, Women in Microwave events, and several initiatives for young researchers and students, including those at the high school level.
