Biography
Yanghyo Rod Kim (S’14-M’17-SM’17) graduated from UCLA with his Ph.D. in electrical engineering. Before joining Stevens as an assistant professor, he developed sensors and communication systems at Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Keyssa, and U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. He received a DARPA Young Faculty Award in 2022, Army Research Laboratory Summer Research Fellowship in 2021, Honorable Mention Award (2nd place) at the IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems in 2018, NASA Technology Innovation Award in 2016, NASA Graduate Student Fellowship in 2014, and Broadcom University Research Award (1st place) in 2013. Rod served as a publicity chair for the 2021 IEEE Wireless Power Transfer Conference. He currently serves as an associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques and technical program review committee for the IEEE International Microwave Symposium.
