Biography
Dr. Wanchen Yang (M’15-SM’19) received the PhD degree in Electromagnetic Field and Microwave Technology from Nanjing University of Science and Technology (NUST), Nanjing, China, in 2015. She is currently a Professor at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), China, with research expertise in millimeter-wave phased arrays and base-station antennas. She has authored or co-authored over 100 journal paper, including 52 in IEEE Transactions, garnering over 4000 citation on Google Scholar. She was the recipient of the 2021 Second Prize of Science and Technology Progress Award of Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE), and the 2017 Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation of Jiangsu Province. She serves as a Technical Committee Member of the IEEE AP-S Technical Committee on Antenna Measurement (TCAM), and an Area Editor for Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, and an Associate Editor of IEEE Access, and a Secretary General of the Intelligent Holographic Radio Task Force in China’s National IMT-2030 (6G) Promotion Group. She actively contributes to support IEEE MTT-S activities, having served as Chair or Co-Chair for the Women in Microwaves (WiM) sessions at several conferences in China including the 2022/2024/2025 IEEE MTT-S IMWS-AMP, the 2024 IEEE International Wireless Symposium. Related reports have been or are scheduled to be published in the IEEE Microwave Magazine in May 2022, October 2024, June 2025, and July 2026. Additionally, she organized the PhD Student Initiative Program at the 2022 IEEE MTT-S IMWS-AMP in Guangzhou and the inaugural IEEE MTT-S Nanjing Postgraduate Paper Competition in 2025.
