Sagar Dhar

Dr. Sagar Dhar is currently with Macom Tech. Solutions Canada Inc. working as a Sr. RF Power Amplifier (PA) Design Engineer developing high-efficiency PAs for 5G infrastructure development. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the iRadio Lab, University of Calgary, Canada in 2020. Part of his thesis works on harmonic tuned high-efficiency PA design were conducted in collaboration with NXP Semiconductors, AZ, USA where he joined later as an intern in 2019. He has 7+ years of design experience in microwave/mmWave PAs, active antennas, microwave circuits and systems, and technology evaluation and characterization.

Dr. Dhar was a recipient of the prestigious federal scholarship — Izaak Walton Killam Pre-Doctoral Scholarship, and the provincial scholarship — Alberta Innovates Tech Futures Doctoral Award in Canada. He also received the Academic Excellence Award, the Open Doctoral Scholarship, Eyes High Doctoral Scholarship, and the Research Productivity Award in the University of Calgary, Canada.

His current research interests include high-efficiency and high linearity power amplifiers, load-modulated power amplifiers, GaN device modeling, and load–pull techniques.
