Biography
Paolo Enrico de Falco (Member, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Bristol, Bristol, U.K., in 2018. From 2017 to 2019, he was with Toshiba Telecommunications Research, Bristol, U.K., where he developed load-modulated RF power amplifiers for high-power transmitters. In 2019, he joined the University of Colorado at Boulder, Boulder, CO, USA, where he was a Research Associate investigating efficient RF power technologies for 5G wireless communication networks. Since 2019 he is an Honorary Senior Research Associate with the University of Bristol. He is currently with Qualcomm in the advanced power amplifiers technology team.
Dr. de Falco won First Place in the IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium (2016 IMS) High Efficiency Power Amplifier Student Design Competition and in the 2016 European Microwave Week Student Challenge. He has authored or co-authored several international journal, conference papers and patents on the topic of high efficiency power amplifiers.
His interests include novel load-modulation architectures and related signal processing (DPD, signal component separators), new tools for design automation and transmitter architectures for MIMO and M-MIMO systems.
