Omkar Bhalekar

Omkar Bhalekar has received a Masters of Science degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology, New York, 2020 and a Bachelor of Engineering from University of Mumbai, 2016

Omkar Bhalekar started as an Intern at MTNL, a pioneering telecom giant of India. He currently works as a Sr Network Engineer at Tesla’s Fremont Manufacturing Plant in the Silicon Valley, California. He specializes in advanced networking in the field of smart and sustainable manufacturing technologies of electric Vehicles, battery technology, and Robotics manufacturing following Industry 5.0 standards which focuses on environmental sustainability. With 6+ years’ experience in this field, he supports the critical business operations of the plant which includes designing, building, and maintaining scalable wired and wireless networks for factories and manufacturing lines, along with expertise in security of Industrial networks.  He is deeply passionate about innovation, environmental sustainability, and aims to bridge the gap between manufacturing and security to help encourage and facilitate future tech industry professionals.

Omkar currently serves as an Associate Editor for SARCouncil and ESP-IJACT and has peer reviewed several manuscripts for high Impact Journals Such as IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE vehicular technology Magazine, IEEE Transaction on Automation and Science Journal, IEEE-IAS Transportation Systems Committee, and IEEE-Transaction on Human Machine Systems including several International Conferences

Omkar is also an avid techblog writer contributing to IEEE ComSoc, IEEE Young Professionals and RSA Conference. He currently serves on the Technical Committee of IEEE Control Systems Society and IEEE Aerospace and Electronic System Society. Being a Climatebase Fellow, he combines technical expertise with a strong awareness of the environmental impacts of technology, advocating for sustainable and responsible innovation.
