Biography
Dr. Nosherwan Shoaib received double master’s degrees in electronics engineering and PhD degree in RF & microwave engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in Sept. 2011 and Feb. 2015, respectively. After serving two terms as post-doctoral research fellow, he joined National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad. As an Associate Professor, he teaches RF & microwave related courses to Electrical Engineering students. His current research interests include design & development of 5G MIMO antennas, Frequency selective surfaces, Metasurfaces, RF energy harvesting, Internet of Things (IoT), RF metrology and microwave active circuits. Dr. Shoaib contributed to three patents, one book, one book chapter and more than 70 leading international technical journal, peer reviewed conference papers and technical reports. He has been granted 22+ Million PKR research funds as PI. He was awarded 2019 IEEE Faculty Course Development Award from IEEE I&M society, IEEE EMC Chapter Founder Award 2019, Best Ph.D. Graduate Award 2015, Best URSI Paper Award 2015, ARFTG Ph.D. Student Award 2013, Best National Project Gold Medal Award 2010, Vice Chancellor & President of Pakistan Gold Medal Awards 2008.
Dr. Shoaib is the senior member of IEEE and the founder & chair of award-winning Pakistan’s first IEEE joint Microwave Theory & Techniques, Antenna & Propagation, Electromagnetic Compatibility/Interference and Circuits & Systems (MTT-AP-EMC-CAS) societies chapter.
