Markus Clemens was born in 1968 in Wittlich, Germany. He received the University Diploma in mathematical engineering (“Technomathematik”) from the University of Kaiserslautern, Kaiserslautern, Germany, in 1995, and the Ph.D. degree in the field of computational electromagnetics from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Darmstadt, Germany, in 1998.,In December 2003, he received his venia legend in “electromagnetic theory” and “scientific computing”. In 2004, he became head of the Chair for Theory in electrical engineering and computational electromagnetics at the Helmut-Schmidt-University, University of the Federal Armed Forces, Hamburg, Germany. Since October 2009, he has been head of the Chair for Electromagnetic Theory at the Bergische Universitaet, Wuppertal, Germany. His research activities are in the field of Computational Engineering and Mathematical Engineering. His research specifically involves the development and application of numerical simulation methods for computational electromagnetics and computational multiphysics.
