Biography
Marie obtained her bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at the KU Leuven Engineering Sciences Faculty in 2019. In the first year of her master’s in Biomedical Engineering, she studied in KTH in Stockholm for one year with the Erasmus exchange program. She completed the second year at KU Leuven (2021, magna cum laude), where she wrote her thesis on the use of deep neural networks for radiotherapy treatment planning. Driven by her interest for the application of science and engineering in biology and medicine, she is now pursuing the degree of PhD in a collaboration between KU Leuven (BE) and Polytechnique Montréal (CA), under supervision of Professor Dominique Schreurs and Professor Ke Wu. She aims to electromagnetically characterize and model artificial tissues in a broadband frequency range. Her main fields of interests are electromagnetics, signal processing, mathematical modelling, artificial intelligence, and human physiology.
