Maria Carolina Vigano

Maria Carolina Viganó received the Laurea (summa cum laude) degree in telecommunication engineering from the University of Florence, Italy, in 2006. She was then Intern, YGT and Contractor at the European Space Agency in Noordwijk.She was co-recipient of the 2010 Young Antenna Engineer Prize at the 32th European Space Agency Antenna Workshop. In January 2011 she completed her Ph.D. degree cosponsored by Delft University of Technology, Thales Alenia Space Toulouse, and ESA-ESTEC. Her research interest includes phased array, satellite communication antennas and synthesis techniques for non-regular arrays. After years as R&D antenna engineer and product manager at ViaSat Antennas System SA she is now leading the terminal development group in Lausanne. She is currently on the industry board for SATNEX V and part of the MTT-TC29.
