Majid Riaziat (M’84) received the B.S degree in engineering physics from the University of Oklahoma in 1978 and the M.S and Ph.D. degrees in applied physics from Stanford University in 1980 and 1983 respectively. He has been with Varian Re5earch Center since 1984 Currently he 17 manager of the electro-optics group at the Vdrian Research Center, Palo Alto, CA The major emphasis of this group is on the development of microwave fiber-optic networks. His previous work was with the MMIC group at Vdrian, where he was responsible for the development of coplanar waveguide integrated circuits as well as InP-based HEMT’s, and MMIC’s.
