Biography
Lorenzo Silvestri was born in Novara, Italy, on July 20th, 1987. He received the M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering and the Ph.D. in Electronic, Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Pavia, Pavia, Italy, in 2014 and 2019, respectively. In 2014 he was the recipient of a one-year postgraduate scholarship at the University of Pavia, working on passive Substrate Integrated Waveguide (SIW) components. He was a visiting scientist at Ghent University (Belgium) and guest researcher at Université de Bordeaux (France). He is currently a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor at the University of Pavia working on the design of passive microwave components, primarily based on the SIW technology, also employing the additive manufacturing techniques. He has served as Associate Editor for the International Journal of Microwave and Wireless Technologies (IJMWT) since 2022. In 2015 he was co-recipient for the Best Paper Award at 15th Mediterranean Microwave Symposium (MMS 2015). Dr. Silvestri is an IEEE Senior member and a member of the IEEE MTT-S TC-17 “Microwave Materials and Processing Technologies”. He has authored or co-authored more than 90 technical papers published in international journals and presented at conferences.
