Joe Schultz

Joseph G. Schultz is a Radio Frequency Engineer with Keysight Technologies supporting Microwave EDA Simulation Applications in Aerospace and Defense. Joe received his BSEE from the University of Illinois Champaign Urbana in 1987 and started his Motorola/Freescale/NXP career. As a design engineer at Motorola/Freescale he obtained his MSEE and MECE degrees from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1993 and 2016 respectively. Joe is a Senior Member of IEEE.

Joe has over 38 years of design experience in radio power amplifiers, PAICs, and transmitter circuits. He has designed handset and base station PA’s from 3V to 50V, 100mW to 3kW across 68MHz to 5GHz. During his career he has accumulated over 25 patents and has moved Base and Handset radio power amplifier design forward. He has seen and lived the evolution of PA design from ‘black magic’ tuning to the present-day, high-level FEM, electro-thermal, and non-linear simulated designs.
