Biography
Dr. Amit Kumar Baghel (Member, IEEE) was born in Delhi, India. He completed his PhD from IIT Guwahati in the year 2020 in the domain of Electronics and Electrical Engineering. After completing his PhD, he joined as a research associate at IIT Guwahati and served as a visiting faculty at National Rail Transportation Institutes for a period. Subsequently, he became a researcher at Instituto de Telecomunicações in Aveiro, Portugal in 2021.
Dr. Baghel has authored and co-authored and published more than 21 articles in international conferences and peer-reviewed journals. He holds one Indian patent grant, and three patents are currently under review, including one international patent. In recognition of his work in wireless power transfer, he has received the Gandian Young Innovation Award in 2018, the Governor Award in 2019, and the UGC Kothari Fellowship in 2021. His research areas also encompass metamaterial design, compact anechoic chambers, antenna design for mm- and microwave frequencies, and space-based solar power satellites.
