Biography

Amine Gasmi is currently pursuing a degree in Electrical & Automation Engineering at Ecole Polytechnique Sousse, Tunisia. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Physics & Energy Systems from the Higher School of Sciences and Techniques of Hammam Sousse, Tunisia, in 2023. His end-of-study project focused on developing Intel Farm, an intelligent greenhouse powered by a solar panel, using IoT technology for the automation and remote monitoring of plant growth conditions.

Amine has worked on several innovative projects, including Better Tomorrow, a comprehensive educational platform designed to enhance the children’s education system for parents and educational institutions. He also developed Home Assistant, a Raspberry Pi-powered smart home system that allows seamless control of lighting, temperature, tasks, and entertainment, and VivaNode, a solar-powered water pumping system with IoT connectivity, enabling users to remotely monitor and control solar power generation, water usage, and battery levels, while incorporating AI solutions to support child development.

In addition to his technical work, Amine serves as a robotics instructor, guiding children in mastering the basics of robotics, including programming, electronics, and mechanics, through hands-on learning with platforms like Arduino Uno, ESP32, and IoT. This role has enhanced his skills in patience, group management, and project collaboration.

Amine is actively involved in the IEEE community, serving as the Media Chief of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S) Young Professionals, Vice Chair of the PES Tunisia Section Chapter, and Events and Initiatives Coordinator for the IEEE PES Region 8 Students & Young Professionals Committee. He is also a member of IEEE Smart Village and serves as the IEEE CS SC Area 6 Representative and Young Professional Climate Change Member.
