TC Field of Interest: MTT-20 Technical Committee is responsible for all technical activities related to wireless communications for the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society. This includes, Internet of Things (IoTs), Next-Generation/5G communications, Machine-to-Machine Communications, Emergency Communications, Satellite Communications, Internet of Space, Space Communications and all aspects related to architecture and system level theoretical and practical issues.Emerging and Hot Fields of Research within your Field of Interest: 5G wireless, Internet of Space, Internet of Things are the emerging fields in our committee, this include system level strategies for delivering everywhere internet connections whenever there is a need, including earth, but also space communications.Recent TC activities: We proposed and served as editors for 2016 IEEE Transactions (T-MTT) Special Issue on 5G Wireless Technologies. We are contributing to the MTT-S Internet of Space (IoS) initiative and participating in the 2016 meetings to decide on a proposal to IEEE Future Directions Committee (FDC). We organized and co-sponsored multiple workshops on emerging topics, such as, 5G Technologies, Heterogeneous Integration if Silicon and III-V, Charging and Energy Harvesting at IMS 2016. TC-20 members contributed in organizing IMS2016 as TPC Co-Chair and other IMS2016 steering committee positions. IEEE WPTC2016 conference is also organized and Chaired by TC-20 members.We also organized workshops on SATCOM and student design competition on Software Defined Radios in IMS 2015 at Phoenix.
