Dear MTT-S Members,
It is with the deepest sadness that I report to you the passing of Prof. Allen Katz (Life Fellow, IEEE), who passed away peacefully surrounded by Sally, his beloved wife of 55 years and daughters Alisha and Tova at 04:32 am on Thursday, June 20, 2024. He is survived by his wife Sally, sister Joan, daughters Alisha and Tova, grandchildren Shanti, Sandeep, Noa, Leora, Jack, and nephew Joseph.
An active and outstanding MTT-S member, Prof. Allen Katz received the IEEE MTT-S Application Award in 2015 for his work in linearization, the IEEE Microwave Magazine Best Paper Award in 2010, and the William Randolph Lovelace II Award in 2002. He also received the IEEE Region 1 Technology Innovation Award in 2007 and served as the MTT-S Distinguished Microwave Lecturer. He was chair of the AP /ED/MTT chapter in the IEEE Princeton/Central Jersey Section and also the Technical Program Committee co-chair for the IMS2018-Philadelphia. https://mtt.org/profile/dr-allen-katz/
