Call for Nominations

Deadline: 31 December 2024

 

The IEEE MTT-S Outstanding YP Lecturer Program is a new program sponsored by the IEEE MTT-S Young Professionals (YP) Committee, which aims to inspire and educate MTT-S Young Professionals on diverse technical and non-technical topics, fostering deeper engagement in Microwave Theory and Technology, while promoting excellence among Young Professionals. Through this program, selected MTT-S YP Outstanding Lecturers will deliver in-person and virtual talks to MTT-S chapters and sections worldwide (on-demand) enhancing outreach and knowledge-sharing across the field, while getting the unique opportunity to engage with the broad MTT-S community.

Nominations
We welcome self-nominations for this role. Each selected MTT-S YP Outstanding Lecturer serves for a one-year term, extendable up to three years, and they are required to present at least three in-person talks during their tenure. 

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be an IEEE MTT-S member
  • Be part of the IEEE YP Group member 
  • Have 5 years or more professional experience after their Bachelor’s degree

Selection Criteria
Candidates will be evaluated by a Selection Panel based on:

  • Presentation Skills (35%)
  • Professional Growth in Microwave Theory and Technology (35%)
  • Quality and Relevance of proposed lectures for Young Professionals (30%)

Nomination Package

Applicants must include the following in a nomination package and submit through online form as a single PDF document: 

  • Proposed Talks (up to two talks): Title(s) and brief abstract(s)
  • Biography + Picture: 500-1000 words
  • Resume/CV: Limited to 2 pages max
  • Statement: Benefits of the proposed talks to the MTT-S YP Community (up to 1000 words)
  • Sample Video: A 5-minute video showcasing one of the proposed talks. A video link may be submitted through YouTube, OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, or similar, if needed.
