IEEE Boston MTT/AP-S Joint Chapter: Keeping the Boston Hub Dynamic
IEEE MTT/AP-S Boston Joint Chapter is the first to be featured from Region 1 in Microwave Magazine!
Greater Boston is well known as a hub for microwave and antenna engineering. Because of the depth and breadth of expertise, research, and development activities that can be found in the region, it is further home to more than 700 students and 8,000 IEEE Members in a 50-mile radius as well as to a large number of world-class corporations, organizations, and universities.
The IEEE Microwave Theory and Technology Society Chapter has been operating continuously for approximately 15 years with regular elections and officer turnover, indicating healthy interest not just in the events but in service to the community as well. In September 2024, a merger with the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society Chapter was completed in recognition of the common skills and interests of the two Societies. The Joint Chapter maintains its goal of hosting events roughly every other month, in a variety of formats and locations, to maximize its reach across all potential audiences.
