Biography

Photos Vryonides received the B.Eng., M.Phil., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), UK, in 1998, 1999, and 2002, respectively. He is a member of the teaching and research staff in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Informatics at Frederick University, where he teaches in both the undergraduate and postgraduate programs. He is also a Senior Researcher at Frederick Research Center (FRC) and co-director of the Antennas and Microwaves Group at Frederick University.

His current research interests include RF design and characterization of reconfigurable microwave and passive components, with a focus on filters, attenuators, and other multifunctional RF passive devices. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and has represented Cyprus as a delegate in the management committee of the COST Action IC0803 RF/Microwave Communication Subsystems for Emerging Technologies, and currently in COST Action CA18223 Future Communications with Higher-Symmetric Engineered Artificial Materials.

Dr. Vryonides serves as a regular reviewer for IEEE Microwave and Wireless Technology Letters, IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I & II, and IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques. He is currently an Associate Editor for IEEE Access and the IEEE Open Journal of Circuits and Systems. In addition, he regularly serves as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member for various international conferences and is a member of the IMS TPRC in the subcommittee on planar filters.
