Biography

Munkyo Seo (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronics engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea, in 1994 and 1996, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), Santa Barbara, CA, USA, in 2007. From 1997 to 2002, he was an RF Engineer with LG Electronics Inc., Anyang, South Korea, where he designed microwave subsystems for wireless communication. He was an Assistant Project Scientist with UCSB from 2008 to 2009. In 2009, he joined Teledyne Scientific Company, Thousand Oaks, CA, USA, where he worked on various millimeter-wave, terahertz, and high-speed mixed-signal circuits. Since 2013, he has been with Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU), Suwon, South Korea, where he is currently an Associate Professor. His research interests include millimeter-wave and sub-terahertz integrated circuit design for next-generation wireless communication, radar, imaging, and sensing.

Dr. Seo was the recipient of the Lancaster Dissertation Award from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2008, and the ELEX Best Paper of the Year Award from IEICE in 2016. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Microwave and Wireless Technology Letters and the Journal of Semiconductor Technology and Science. He also served as a Guest Editor for the IEEE Microwave and Wireless Technology Letters Special Issue on APMC 2025. He is currently the Director of SKKU Analog-RF Research Center.
