Biography
Matthew Torpey (Senior Member, IEEE) received the B.S.E.E. from Ohio Northern University, the M.S.E.E. from Johns Hopkins University, and the Ph.D from Capitol Technical University. Since 2001, he has worked at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Linthicum Heights, MD, as an RF/Microwave Engineer. He is a Technical Fellow working with production and research filters, switched filter banks, and tunable/reconfigurable filter assemblies covering HF to mm-Band. He holds three patents (five more filed) and has over 10 publications in peer-reviewed journals and proceedings. He is an elected member of the IEEE MTT-S TC-5 Filters Committee as well as TC-4 Microwave Passive Components and Transmission Line Structures Committee, and a Topic Editor for IEEE Journal of Microwaves.
