Ken Cooper

Ken Cooper received an A.B. in physics from Harvard College in 1997 and a Ph.D. in physics from the California Institute of Technology in 2003.  Following postdoctoral research in superconducting microwave qubits, Ken has worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory since 2006 as an RF Microwave Engineer, where he has been recognized with the Lew Allen Award for Excellence, the Ed Stone Award for an Outstanding Research Publication, and a Principal designation for the development of active THz sensors, systems, and techniques. Ken’s work at JPL has included the development of scanning 340 GHz and 670 GHz imaging radars for concealed object detection, a compact 95 GHz Doppler radar and 270/560 GHz spectrometer for cometary jet observation, and differential absorption radars at 170 GHz and 560 GHz for humidity sounding on Earth and Mars.
