The Harry Diamond Memorial Award, sponsored
by IEEE USA, honors individuals for distinguished technical contributions in the
field of
electro technology while in U.S. government service. This year’s
recipient is Robert J. Trew
citation: "For technical contributions to the theory and design of microwave power devices using wide bandgap semiconductors and leadership in managing DoD's basic research programs"
Robert
J. Trew received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan in
1975. He is currently the Willis G. Worcester Professor of Engineering and Head
of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of Virginia Polytechnic
Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA. From 1997-2001 he was Director
